Artichoke w/Plate, 1989
Etching, hand colored, ed: 25
13 x 24 in. (Paper: 22 x 30 in.)
Artichoke and Plate was printed at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, CA on a Griffin etching press. The plate was incised by Guy Diehl and the prints were pulled individually by hand. In the first state, the artist drew into a hard ground which was etched in ferric chloride. The second state included the addition of dry point and roulette. In the third and fourth states, aquatint was applied to the plate and etched in various stages, producing the subtle grays and rich blacks. All but the last nine prints in the arabic numbered edition are watercolored by the artist.

One available. Etching, hand-colored by the artist.
