For Magritte was pulled at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, CA on a Griffen etching press and a Stienmesse and Stollberg flatbed press. The collagraph was printed first. It was created by Rupert Garcia and printed in multiple colors a la poupee in a variant edition. A lithographic line drawing by the artist was printed in dark gray on top of the collagraph. The artist hand-colored each impression with dry pastel in various colors, adding further complexity to the variant edition.
