| Johnny Otis’s “Jazz” was pulled at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, CA on a flatbed transfer press. The fourteen plates were each drawn separately by the artist on translucent mylar. The drawings were transferred to plates via contact exposure. The prints were pulled individually, one color at a time. After a proofing session where various color changes were explored, the artist selected a “right to print” which was used as the standard for the edition. The artist then approved, signed and designated each impression. |
