Guy Diehl
Hot Dog and Plate, 1989
etching
5.75 x 7.75 in. (paper: 15.5 x 15 in.)

Hot Dog and Plate was pulled at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, CA on a Griffin etching press. The plate was incised by Guy Diehl and the prints were pulled individually by hand. In the first state, the artist drew into a hard ground which was etched in ferric chloride. The second and third state included the addition of aquatint and drypoint. In the fourth state, using drypoint, hard ground and aquatint, the hot dog was garnished with tomatoes and onions.
